Air Conditioning efficiency is measured in its COP (Coefficient of Performance) for its heating output and EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) for it cooling performance. It is the relationship between power kW put out and the power kW that is supplied and consumed by the Air Conditioning Heat Pump unit.
Mitsubishi Electric MXZ range of Air Conditioning Heat Pumps start with a COP / EER of 4.4 / 3.9, which means that in heating mode it produces 4.4kW of heat for every 1kW of electricity consumed and 3.9kW of cooling for every 1kW of electricity used.
By contrast an electric radiator or heating element has a COP of 1, as it consumes 1kW of power for each kW of heat produced
